Introduction

This book is not a biography. It is not meant to give the reader a special understanding of George W. Bush's life though portions of it are discussed in detail. Instead, this book is a reaction, if you will. Well over a year ago, when it began to become apparent that Bush would be the candidate of the GOP establishment, I knew little about the man. As he made news and his views, character, strengths and weaknesses became clearer I became concerned. The man that everyone assumed would be the next president seemed lacking to me.

So, I began to read up on his record and his ideas. I was not impressed. I could not understand how Bush could continue to be so popular. If people just knew, I thought, his record, character, proposals and life-experiences there would be no way Bush could win 25% of the vote come November. So, I thought, why not present all of this information in one place and let people really understand just what George W. Bush is all about. This book is the result.

I've collected facts and arguments made in hundreds and hundreds of articles, and a book or two, and tried to weave them together in a coherent narrative. I've added my own analysis to help bring these disparate works together, but I must give due credit to the journalists who did all of the original legwork.

What I found from all of this research is simple. George W. Bush is the worst candidate put forth by a major party in a long, long time. His election, in my view, would represent a total breakdown in the American democratic process. I've presented my reasoning for this in six chapters that cover:

Each of these chapters can be read independently of each other with the exception of Chapter 1, which gives background for each of the other five chapters.

Regardless of your political affiliation, the information discussed here will change your opinion of the Republican candidate. This is an important election, the most important in a long time. Electing Bush would be a giant mistake for this country. Read on and find out why.
